Any person interested should call Habitat at (704) 642-6292 and express their interest in becoming a homeowner. The contact information gathered from interested individuals is entered into our database. At least twice a year, the Family Selection Committee instructs the Habitat Office to notify persons registered in the database by mail about upcoming opportunities to apply.

Application Meetings are conducted by The Family Selection Committee. At these meetings, trained volunteers answer questions and help applicants complete the application form.

The Family Selection Committee considers each application individually. The committee further investigates applications that comply with Habitat acceptance criteria. Members of the Selection Committee schedule a visit to the favorable applicant's home.
