- How can my church or organization sponsor a house?
Many churches and organizations in Rowan County have found that sponsorship of a Habitat house is a very good avenue of outreach. They have discovered that they can uplift people and our community as they simply build a Habitat house in God's name. Churches have found that involvement with Habitat can revive and nurture their congregation. Working on a Habitat house provides people with an opportunity to have moments of meaning, understanding, acceptance and thanksgiving. And it is fun. People have a good time. Churches can choose to sponsor a house by committing financially and volunteering their time, OR simply by agreeing to volunteer every Saturday that a particular house is being built.
