Can't Get Enough of That Barbecued Chicken
4/2/08

More than 7,500 Port-a-Pit babecue chicken meals went on sale Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Salisbury Civic Center to raise money for Habitat for Humanity of Rowan County.

From the looks of the brisk traffic driving through two lanes set up for curbside sales of the $7 meals, the fundraiser was a success.

The annual event features delicious Port-a-Pit chicken accompanied by slaw, potato salad, a roll and dessert.

The more than 700 cakes or pies were donated as were the services of 100 volunteers working the food line inside, delivering large orders to factories and worksites or making sales at the curbside.
